For the Ted Lasso series finale, Rich Cornelius ACO operated a three-minute continuous-style sequence using a DJI Ronin 2 with the production’s ARRI Mini LF and Tokina Vista Prime camera package.

The shot was designed to flow continuously through the scene, with a concealed cut incorporated because of the physical restrictions of the set. The entire sequence was gimbal operated using the Flowcine GLink and required careful coordination between the camera and cast to ensure everyone arrived at precisely the right position at the right moment.

Around nine takes were completed, with the camera movement evolving throughout the process. Rather than simply repeating the original plan, each take provided an opportunity to refine the timing, positioning and relationship between the camera and performers, ultimately developing the shot beyond its initial concept.

The result is a three-minute sequence in which the complexity of the camera movement is deliberately unobtrusive, allowing the choreography, performances and timing of the cast to drive the shot.
