Frequently Asked Questions
What camera stabilisation services do you provide?
Stabilimage Films provides professional gimbal operating, camera stabilisation, specialist moving-camera services and equipment hire for feature films, television and commercial productions. Our equipment includes DJI Ronin 2 and Ronin 4D systems, Flowcine GLINK & xSPINE, DJI Master Wheels, NODO Wheels and specialist tracking equipment.
What cameras can be used with your DJI Ronin 2 packages?
Our DJI Ronin 2 systems can accommodate a wide range of professional cinema camera and lens combinations. Suitability depends on the size, weight and configuration of the complete camera build, so we recommend discussing your intended camera and lens package with us in advance
Do you provide both gimbal operators and technicians?
Yes. We can provide experienced gimbal operators and dedicated technicians depending on the requirements of the production. Packages can be tailored around the camera department, equipment and complexity of the shot.
Can I hire your equipment without an operator or technician?
Most of our equipment can potentially be supplied on a dry-hire basis. However, we recommend wet hire with an experienced operator or technician. Dry hire may be available to competent individuals or productions where the appropriate experience and measures are in place.
What is the difference between wet hire and dry hire?
Wet hire means the equipment is supplied with an experienced operator or technician, while dry hire is equipment-only. For specialist gimbal and camera systems, we generally recommend wet hire to ensure the equipment is correctly prepared, configured and supported throughout the production.
Do you provide DJI Ronin 4D 8K and 6K packages?
Yes. We provide professional DJI Ronin 4D 8K and 6K packages with a range of accessories and operating configurations, including DJI Transmission, Flex and remote operation using DJI Master Wheels
What is the Flowcine GLINK & xSPINE used for?
The Flowcine GLINK & xSPINE is a body-mounted support system designed to carry professional gimbal and camera packages while reducing the physical load on the operator. It is particularly useful for extended takes, tracking shots and demanding moving-camera work
Do you provide DJI Master Wheels and NODO Inertia Wheels?
Yes. We provide DJI Master Wheels and NODO Film Systems Inertia Wheels for precise remote control of compatible gimbals and camera systems. They can be incorporated into a larger Stabilimage Films package depending on the requirements of the shot.
Do you work outside London?
Yes. Stabilimage Films is based in London and works on productions throughout the UK and internationally
Can you help plan a technically difficult camera move before the shoot?
Yes. We regularly work with cinematographers, directors, grips and camera departments during planning and preparation to develop practical solutions for complex camera moves. Early involvement can also help determine the most appropriate equipment and operating configuration before the shoot.
How do I check availability and hire rates?
Contact Stabilimage Films with your production dates, location and an outline of the equipment or camera requirements. We can then advise on availability, suitable packages and hire rates.
